Chairman of the Board, LPCUWC

“Hong Kong has had a long history working with the UWC Movement, sending our first batch of local students to overseas UWC Schools and Colleges back in 1972. Then in 1992, LPCUWC was founded in Hong Kong, joining an international movement which has since grown to 18 UWC Schools and Colleges located all over the world. Our UWC education has been transforming the lives of thousands of local and overseas young people from more than 140 countries from vastly different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, many of whom have been converted to a life serving the welfare of mankind.  The College’s 30th Anniversary provides excellent opportunities for us to rekindle alumni passion for the UWC cause, raise public awareness of the UWC vision, and join hands in building up a vibrant community in answer to the higher calling of peace and sustainability for the world.”

“The 30th Anniversary of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong gives us an opportunity to ‘pause and reflect’ on the achievements of the College as well as looking forward to the opportunities in the next 30 years.   It is particularly gratifying to see programmes and activities focusing on Peace and Conflict Resolution, Sustainability & Environment and Innovation & Design Thinking over the years that are UWC mission aligned.  It is encouraging to see the passion of young people to make a different in the world.  Our alumni have also extended the impact of UWC Education to communities all around the world.  As we celebrate what has been accomplished, we can also look forward to new, exciting enhancements and developments.”

“UWC education creates a life-changing impact on students through a transformational experience of living and learning in a multicultural environment.  Since UWC first started operations in Hong Kong 50 years ago, UWC has groomed 2000 students from Hong Kong and 180 countries, who have now become stewards of peace and sustainable development in their respective fields. Looking ahead, UWC will continue to help build Hong Kong’s international talent pool as a force for good.”

Chairman of Anniversary Steering Committee, LPCUWC Founding Alumnus

"As a graduate of the Pioneer Class, I am deeply grateful to LPCUWC for a life-changing education. Our joint anniversaries of LPC’s 30th and UWCHK’s 50th are not only historical milestones to celebrate, but also provide a platform to share with the public our unique pedagogy.  Representing over 100 countries, our students and alumni have been building bridges to unite people, nations and cultures in the pursuit of a peaceful and sustainable future. More than ever, in a world of conflicts and polarisation, our world needs to embrace the values of UWC in cultural understanding, peaceful resolutions, and environmental sustainability."
